Given the nature of fashion blogging I get photographed often, so I was debating doing a maternity specific photo shoot. My blog posts have captured the duration of my pregnancy. With each new blog post comes a new week of pregnancy. However, I decided to move forward and do a maternity photo shoot and I’m so glad I did. This shoot was different — it wasn’t about the outfits — it was all about my little girl. I wanted to emphasize my bump… and her glow.
This little girl of mine gave me the confidence to shoot these maternity looks at 33 weeks. If you know me personally you know I’m pretty conservative, but when it came time to shoot my bump I was all for putting ‘her’ on display!
Would you believe the first shot of me in the pink dress was not an actual dress… it was a bed sheet!?! Normally I would be shy to do something like this, but I loved the idea of something a bit more causal, feminine, and different. Then I got into the water to shoot that gorgeous plum dress! Shooting with the Chicago skyline behind me was perfect…. me, my princess in the most amazing city that we will both soon call home. I lucked out and was shot by the most talented maternity/new born photographer in Chicago, Julie Newell Photography. Her and her teams’ creativity blew me away!.
If you have any tips, words or wisdom, or new mommy must-have items I would so appreciate you sharing them with me.
Even though this post was not about my outfits and all about my bump, I know many of you will ask (or want to know) where my dresses are from so I linked them all above.
