Chambray is a classic and timeless fabric, however it also happens to be super on trend right now! It’s known as denim’s lighter more breathable and more versatile counterpart. It”s really popular for spring and summer because of its lightweight nature and ease of wear — and it’s so perfect for pregnancy! It’s easy breezy and the fabric gives. I love wearing chambray on a hot summer day because I know it won’t stick to me and it’s super breathable. I have a number of tops in the fabric, but when I spotted this maxi dress I fell in love! The color blocking, maxi length and flared skirt make this dress a showstopper!
Typically the fabric tends to be more casual, but this chambray maxi is definitely anything but casual! Although I styled the dress a bit on the dressier side, you can also dress this look down quite a bit by wearing it with wedges of flats. It would also be just as cute with a cardigan over it on a chillier night as well. The styling options are endless with this number!
I wore this darling dress when exploring the Chicago History Museum. I decided to dress the look up a little bit bit on this hot Chicago summer day by wearing matching chambray sandals. Who knew that there was such a thing as chambray sandals! I’m smitten with these and have worn them with skirts and denim too! Aren’t they so cute? I carried a pretty, colorful floral purse to add some pops of color to the look.
Do you love chambray as much as I do? Although it’s super trendy now, I always considered it a true classic.
