Since mid-March we have been home bound and only venture out for daily walks and occasional socially distanced time with family. I have been savoring all our time together.
Covid has impacted us all in many ways. Madeline has seen family only while wearing a mask from 6 feet away and hasn’t seen another kid (except from afar at the park). I think about her lack of interaction with other kiddos and her shying away when she sees others while walking down the street. It’s scary to think about this virus has already affected our children and how it will impact them in the future. Unfortunately much of it is out of our control.
What we can do now to help our children:
*Take time to listen to your children
*Play with them one-on-one
*Embrace their abilities and build confidence in the strengths you see
We are all in this together — may this all just be a distant memory for our children.
