The Secret Is Out… We are Expecting Baby #2!

Family

20 Jan

Mommy’s Dress: Norma Kamali Gown / Madeline’s Dress: Carter’s Heart Bow Dress

Baby #2 is on his or her way and we couldn’t be more excited! We feel very lucky and are so grateful to be pregnant again so soon after Madeline. My husband, Brandon, and I really wanted Madeline to have a sibling close in age.  They will be 20 months apart — not exactly Irish twins, but we will have 2 under 2 in the house!

Answering your questions….

How far along are you?

I’m officially 16 weeks pregnant!

How are you feeling/ How is your second pregnancy different than your first so far?

Honestly, I have been pretty sick unfortunately.  Nauseas all the time and beyond exhausted! So tired that I have been napping up to 3 times a day! (No I am not kidding!) The nausea is real and I have been on two medications, but unfortunately neither of them are making me feel much better.

I was hopeful that when I entered the second trimester I would feel a lot better, but with my first pregnancy with Madeline I was sick throughout the entire pregnancy as well.  Although it’s no fun to be sick, I feel so blessed to be pregnant again and I am just dealing with it best as I can.

Is Madeline excited?

I would like to think she is, but she’s not talking a whole lot yet. I will say “baby” and point at my belly and she’ll just stare with a big grin… it’s the cutest thing.  She just started saying “momma” a few weeks ago and it nearly melted my heart, so soon enough she’ll be saying baby… and I’m sure she’ll be showing her little sister or brother who’s boss! lol

Will you be finding out the gender?

Yes! We did the harmony test which is a blood test that looks for genetic disorders and also tells you the gender of the baby.  As cheesy as it sounds, as long as the baby is healthy I would be happy with either a boy or a girl.  Once we find out, we’ll be doing a small family gender reveal and I cannot wait to share the news with you all!

To say we are elated would be an understatement! Thank you all for your continued support.  Stay tuned for more baby updates… and of course fashion posts (maternity style)! 🙂

Devastating News… »

I was born a fashionista… you would think I was wearing a hot pink tulle skirt and a cropped lace blouse, size: newborn. That’s how far back my passion for all things fashion goes — for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a little girl the creative fashionista fire in me has burned bright, and as I sit here today I have that same spark sizzling on and on….

I think of my style as romantic and feminine — but also creative and accessible. I like to be bold and creative with my outfit choices, styling pieces that one may not think would work with another piece. I believe that confidence comes not only from within, but also how you present yourself on a daily basis. When you walk out the house wearing a cute outfit that you feel good in, you are bound to smile! I hope to give you the confidence to put on that pleated skirt that’s been sitting in the back of your closet and feel like a million bucks prancing around in it!

I hope to instill that same confidence in my precious little princess, Madeline. Taking after her mommy, she already loves playing dress up – and you better believe that she always has a smile on her face!

I have had the pleasure of working with brands such as: Amazon, Anthropologie, Banana Republic, Christian Louboutin, Henri Bendel, Rent the Runway, and REVOLVE Clothing to name just a few. I have been featured in Crain’s Chicago Business, InStyle, and on WGN-TV.

If I give you just one idea for styling an outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks, then I will consider my work a success.
